Coming to see us? Here’s what to know:
With over 1,033 acres of land, Oleta River State Park is the largest Urban State Park in Florida. Find us on the southwest corner of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway and NE 163rd Street (Sunny Isles Blvd) in North Miami Beach.
Once you enter, you will pass over historic Oleta River where the Tequesta Indians lived 3,000 years ago. A park ranger will collect your entry fee at the gate. Proceed approximately one mile into the park and you will pass Blue Moon Outdoor Center on your left. Park in lots #1, #2, or #3.
Please do not leave any valuables in your car.
Restrooms are conveniently located at the White Ibis Pavilion on the east side of parking lot #1. We recommend that you change and use the restroom before beginning the rental process in order to avoid delays for you and our other customers. When you are ready, proceed upstairs at Blue Moon Outdoor Center and be prepared to present the cashier with the following items:
Driver’s License, Passport, or other official photo ID
Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard, or American Express)
All adults will need to sign a waiver (available here or on-site)
Children under 18 will need a waiver with a parent’s signature

Picture this: gorgeous warm weather, heavenly clear skies, beautiful blue water, and inexpensive kayaking through the open waters of Biscayne Bay
and Oleta River and the many mangrove trails. I love this place!

It’s awesome even for first timers because there is really no way to get it wrong. You get a map with directions and there are a lot of places to explore.

Blue Moon Outdoor Center doesn’t feel “Miami” at all… A calm, outdoorsy vibe permeates the place, which is exactly the sort of atmosphere I’m looking for when I take a nature day and leave the city of Miami behind.
